2 cups Coconut
freshly Grated
4-6 Green Chilies
1 inch Ginger
piece
3 tbsp Roasted Chana Dal
Salt to taste
For the tempering:
1-1/2 tbsp Sesame Oil
or any other Cooking Oil
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1/4 tsp Asafoetida
1 tsp Urad Dal
1 tsp Chana Dal
8-10 Curry Leaves

In a blender, add all the chutney ingredients. Blend until the coconut is nice creamy and chutney like consistency. Add a little water and mix well.

Remove it in a serving bowl.

For the tempering:

Heat oil in tadka pan. Once it smokes, add mustard seeds and asafetida.

As it crackles, add chana and urad dal. Let them become brown.

Add curry leaves and switch off the flame.

Add this tadka to the chutney.

It is ready to serve with your favourite Idlis or any other South Indian snacks.
