Combine the soaked Dal and Rice in a blender and blend it until it is smooth using 1.5 cups of water. The mixture should not be very watery and not very stiff as well.

Add salt to this batter and cover it. Now let this batter ferment for 7-8 hours in a warm place. Ensure that the vessel is double in size of the quantity of the batter.

After 7-8 hours, mix the batter with the help of a steel ladle. It will be nicely fermented.

Heat a griddle and rub it with some oil using a muslin or a thin cloth.

Pour a ladleful of this batter. Spread it uniformly in a circular motion. Keep it on medium heat.

Let it cook until it is golden brown in color. While this time, you can drizzle some oil on the sides of the dosa.

Once the dosa is cooked, you can just remove it from all the edges of the griddle. Now roll it and serve hot.
