Ingredients
For the Vada’s
- 4 cups SpinachBlanched & Finely Chopped
- 2 cups Whole wheat Flour
- 1 cup Semolina (Rava/Sooji)Roasted
- 1/2 cup Rice flour
- 1 cup Coriander leavesFinely Chopped
- 3 tbsp Fresh Curd
- 2 tbsp Ginger Grated
- 2 tbsp Green ChillesFinely Chopped
- 1 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 2 tsp Coriander seeds powder
- 2 tsp Roasted Cumin Powder
- 1/4 tsp Eating SodaOptional
- 2 tsp Oil
- Pinch SaltAs per Taste
For Tempering
- 2 tsp Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- Pinch Asafoetida
- 8-10 Curry Leaves
- 1 tsp Sesame Seeds
Directions
Steamed Palak Vada is an easy and quick recipe which can be made in a jiffy. Try this recipe at home by following given steps below.
Steps
For the Vada | |
1 Done | Combine all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Mix well. |
2 Done | Divide it into equal portions shaping into a vada. These vada’s should be lemon-sized and then falttened. |
3 Done | In a steamer, arrange these vada’s and steam them for about 10-15 minutes. |
4 Done | Insert a knife or a toothpick. If it comes out clean, then remove the vada’s from the steamer. |
Tempering | |
1 Done | Heat oil in a pan. Once it reaches smoking point, add the mustard seeds and asafetida. As the mustard seeds crackle, add sesame seeds and curry leaves. |
2 Done | Once the curry leaves crackle, add the vada’s and mix well. |
3 Done | Mix them gently otherwise the vada’s will break. |
4 Done | Switch off the flame and serve hot with Green Mango Chutney or Coconut Chutney. |
