Ingredients

For the Chila:

1 cup Yellow Moong Dalsplit yellow gram soaked for 4 hours

1/2 tsp red chili powder

1/2 tsp green chili paste

1/2 tsp sugar

salt to taste

For the stuffing:

1 cup Grated paneer
-
1/2 tsp chat masala
-
salt to taste
-
1/2 tsp red chili powder
-
1/2 tsp amchoor powder
-
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
-
Ghee oil for cooking and greasing
Directions
Stuffed Moong Dal chilla is a high protein recipe. It combines the goodness of dal combined with the stuffing of paneer which can be enjoyed by all the vegetarians as well as Jainism followers. It is a simple recipe for weekends.
Steps
For the Chila: |

Once the dal is soaked, drain it and grind it into a smooth paste using ¾ cup water.

Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Keep it aside.

For the stuffing: |

Heat about 1 tsp ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds. Once it crackles, add the masala’s and cook on a slow flame for about 30 seconds.

Now, add paneer and salt to taste. Mix well and switch off the flame.

How to proceed: |

Heat a griddle (can use a non-stick tava). Grease it with a little ghee.

Now, pour a portion of the moong dal batter. Spread it in a circular motion until it is even.

Spread the prepared paneer stuffing on the Chila evenly. Press it slightly so that the stuffing sticks on the chila.

Now, spread a little ghee or oil on the sides and let it cook until golden brown in colour from both sides.

Serve hot with Coconut Chutney or Raw Mango Chutney.
